Legacy & in-house software

Automate the app nobody wants to touch.
No API, no rewrite.

The old ERP, the custom app a contractor built in 2009, the system only two people know how to use. Fleet AI works in it the way your staff does, through its own windows, and every run is recorded so you can check it.

Works with Windows desktop apps of any age. It finds buttons and fields by the names Windows gives them, and looks at the screen only when it has to.

Sound familiar?

Too old to integrate. Too important to replace.

No API, and no one to build one

The vendor stopped updating it years ago, or the developer who wrote it has moved on. Integration tools have nothing to connect to.

Replacing it is a project nobody wants

Years of data, custom screens and business rules live in it. Migrating is slow, risky and expensive, so the app stays, and so does the manual work around it.

Recorded bots keep breaking

Bots that replay clicks at fixed positions fail when a window opens somewhere else, the screen resolution changes or a popup appears. Someone ends up doing the work by hand anyway.

What it automates

The work in your old software Fleet AI takes off your plate.

Start with one task. Once it runs reliably, add the next. Every workflow is yours to read, edit and schedule.

Order entry

Key orders from emails, PDFs and spreadsheets into the order screens, line by line, then read the totals back before anything is saved.

Re-keying between systems

Carry records from the old app into your accounting software, a web portal or Excel, and back, instead of retyping them.

Reports & exports

Run the app's own reports, export or print them to a file and send them where they need to go, on a schedule.

Look-ups

"What's this customer's open balance?" "Has order 4021 shipped?" Fleet opens the right screen and reads the answer for you.

Bulk record updates

Price changes, new customer details, updated item codes: worked through the app's own edit screens, one record at a time, from a list you provide.

Month-end routines

The same long sequence every month, done the same way every time and recorded so you can check it.

Why it works

It finds the button by name. The screenshot comes last.

A screen-only AI agent takes a screenshot of every step and guesses where to click. A recorded bot clicks where the button used to be. Fleet AI looks for the quickest exact route to each step first, and only reads the screen when nothing else will do.

01

Files and exports first

If the app can export a report or print it to a file, Fleet reads the file instead of reading rows off the screen. The numbers come out exactly as the app wrote them.

02

Buttons and fields by name

Windows publishes the name of most buttons, fields and menus, even in old apps. Fleet clicks "Save Order" by name, so a window in a new place or a different screen resolution doesn't throw it off.

03

Points like a person when it has to

Some grids and custom controls tell Windows nothing. There, the AI describes what it wants, like "the row whose Ref is 4021", and Fleet finds it on screen. If more than one thing matches, it asks again instead of guessing.

How it works

From first call to first run.

  1. Step 1

    Connect the computer

Install the Fleet agent on the Windows PC or cloud desktop where the app already runs. Nothing is installed inside the app itself. The agent connects out to Fleet AI — no inbound ports, no VPN.

  2. Step 2

Show it once, or describe it

Do the task once while explaining it, or describe it in plain English. Fleet turns it into a workflow with steps you can read, edit and schedule.

  3. Step 3

    Approve and run

Approve the plan, then run it with one click or put it on a schedule. Choose the steps where it must wait for a human.

  4. Step 4

    Check its work

Every run is recorded step by step. Watch it live, take over at any moment, or review it afterwards like an employee's work.

Sage 50, Microsoft Access and Excel have built-in Fleet actions, the fastest and cheapest way to work. Every other Windows or web app is worked through control names and the screen, which takes more steps. For an app you run every day, ask us about built-in actions.

FAQ

Legacy software automation, answered.

Which apps does it work with?

Windows desktop apps of any age: old ERPs, and in-house apps built in Visual Basic, .NET, Delphi, FoxPro or PowerBuilder. If your team does the task with a keyboard and mouse, there's a good chance Fleet AI can too. Every app is different, so bring yours to the call and we'll try it.

Is it as fast as your Sage 50 and Access automation?

Not straight away. Sage 50, Microsoft Access and Excel have built-in Fleet actions, which are the fastest and cheapest way to work. In other apps Fleet works through control names and the screen, which takes more AI steps. For an app your business runs on every day, ask us about building actions for it.

Do we need to change the app or install anything inside it?

No. Nothing is installed inside the app and nothing in it is modified. Fleet AI uses it through its normal windows, exactly as your staff sees it.

Could it damage our data?

Fleet AI never writes to the app's database directly. Every change goes through the app's own screens, so its validation and business rules still run. You approve the plan before a run starts, and you choose the steps where it must wait for a person, such as Save or Post.

What if a popup appears or a screen looks different?

Fleet reads the screen fresh at every step, so it sees a popup the way your staff would, and when it can't tell what to do, the run waits for you. You can watch any run live and take over at any moment.

Where does it run?

On the Windows PC or cloud desktop where the app already runs. You install the Fleet agent, which connects out to Fleet AI. No inbound ports and no VPN. If the app is hosted with V2 Cloud, setup is even quicker.
